YouTube announces a welcome initiative for creators
Thousands of content creators around the world today create and post videos on YouTube as their primary source of income. However, all of them have to follow certain guidelines in the process. The social media giant has added rolled out its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) which has highly beneficial guidelines for all creators, wherein any channel with at least 500 subscribers can now apply for the monetisation of its videos. This will make thousands of more Youtubers eligible to earn money from the platform, and it provides huge support to aspiring content creators who do not have a mass following yet.
However, it must be noted that this option is available only for those creators who have uploaded at least three public videos in the last 90 days with a minimum of 3000 watch hours or three million short views and can benefit from this program. YouTube made this move weeks after Twitter announced that their subscribed users could upload two hours of video content on the platform. Elon Musk has thereby shown intent of making Twitter a replacement for YouTube. However, this positive update will invite more content creators to become and remain active on YouTube.
