Yashasvi Jaiswal Scores Maiden Test Century on Debut
Yashasvi Jaiswal has etched his name among the rising stars of Indian cricket as he scored his maiden test ton against West Indies on his debut itself. India suffered a big loss at the WTC final against Australia recently and are currently touring West Indies to get their form back and give younger talent a chance to represent India. Jaiswal, who made his test debut this match with keeper Ishan Kishan, has made the most of this opportunity and scored a big hundred for his team.
Along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, skipper Rohit Sharma also scored a century before being dismissed for 103 by Alick Athanaze. Shubhman Gill was sent back to the pavilion soon after, as he failed to connect a Jomel Warrican delivery and was caught by Athanaze. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal stood his ground and continued to smash Windies bowlers with Virat Kohli on the other end. India has administered a big lead of 162 runs on Day 2 stumps, with Jaiswal and Kohli not out on 143 and 36, respectively. Jaiswal and Sharma’s performance has put India in a dominating position, which promises to uphold its record of never losing a test series in the Caribbean since 2002.
