World Cup 2023: Bharat Records Another Big Win Against Ned

Bharat continues its fierce winning momentum in World Cup 2023 as the men in blue launched an unsparing attack against the Netherlands in Bengaluru yesterday. Bharat won the toss and elected to bat first before skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill took on the bowlers. They both looked in excellent form as they dealt in boundaries and reached a century-long partnership within just 12 overs before Gill was dismissed on 61. Rohit was soon caught on 61 as well, even as Virat Kohli got set and was joined by Shreyas Iyer.

Kohli and Iyer built up another good partnership as the team score comfortably reached 200 before van der Merwe bowled Kohli on 51. However, the best was yet to come as Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul started pressing the accelerator and built a long partnership. Both the middle-order batsmen scored terrific hundreds in a double-century partnership, their first in World Cup 2023, before Rahul was dismissed on 102. Iyer remained not out at 128 as Bharat gave a mammoth target of 411 runs to the Netherlands.

In response, the Netherlands made a mediocre effort, as most of their batsmen were sent back to the pavilion soon after getting set. After Mohammad Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav dismissed their entire top order, Rohit Sharma handed the ball to Virat Kohli, Shubhman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav as well. Kohli got his first wicket in World Cup 2023 in Netherlands captain Scott Edwards, even as Bumrah, Yadav, and Jadeja continued to topple their rivals. Teja Nidamanuru was the only batsman who put up a little fight in the end before Rohit Sharma himself took the ball and trapped him, marking his own first tournament wicket as well.

Bharat will now face New Zealand in the World Cup 2023 Semi-Finals in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
