Virat Kohli gives a sharp reply to criticism of his strike rate
Virat Kohli continues to uphold his reputation as one of the best batsmen in the world, with his performance against Lucknow Super Giants being the latest example. Although RCB lost the match, Kohli’s efforts gave his team a fighting chance. However, various remarks have also been made about his strike rate by New Zealand’s radio commentator Simon Doull. He had recently criticised Kohli for caring more about his personal milestones than the team’s score. The former Indian captain has now given a hitting response to this criticism without having named anyone.
During his interaction with Robin Uthappa at Jio Cinema, Virat said that while the role of an anchor is important, they tend to “look at the game differently” because they have never “been in that position themselves.” Virat, who formerly used to lead Royal Challengers Banglore along with the Indian team at the international level, stepped down from captaincy in 2021. He now plays under Faf du Plessis’ leadership under RCB and will be next seen facing Delhi Capitals in Bengaluru, which is said to be played on April 15.
