Actor Vedang Raina, making his theatrical debut in the film Jigra, recently launched the movie’s title track in Delhi alongside co-star Alia Bhatt. In addition to his acting role, Vedang showcased his vocal talent by performing the title track live for the media. During the press conference, Vedang discussed his character Ankur, highlighting how it resonates more with his true self than his previous Reggie role in Archies. He expressed deep gratitude for landing a grounded role early in his career, stating, “Ankur’s character is closer to who I am. I don’t think I played much of a lover boy in Archies; Reggie was cocky and focused on his looks, which is the last thing I care about.” This sense of gratitude and connection to his character is something that I believe many of you can relate to in your own lives.

He described Ankur as a more authentic character, which allowed him to explore different aspects of his acting range. “It was quite liberating not to run my hands through my hair all the time because Vasan shaved it all multiple times. I was bald throughout the film and had to look a bit disheveled, with no makeup and just one outfit for the entire film. I just had to come to the set and be the character, which was liberating.” Vedang’s reflection on the contrasting roles reveals his excitement about the diverse opportunities he’s encountering as a young actor. He expressed happiness at being able to portray varied characters so early in his career, signaling a promising start in the film industry.
