US targetting chinese Chip manufacturers!
The ongoing conflict between the United States and Huawei intensifies as the Biden Administration explores the possibility of imposing bans on four additional Chinese chip manufacturers associated with the tech giant.
Sources cited by Bloomberg reveal that the targeted companies include Qingdao Sien, SwaySure, Shenzhen Pensun Technology, and ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), China’s leading memory chip producer.
These entities are under consideration for inclusion in the US Entity List, necessitating special authorization for American firms seeking to engage in business with them. Furthermore, reports indicate that two intermediary companies aiding Huawei in acquiring restricted equipment for 5G modem and technology manufacturing could also face sanctions.
Prior analyses have indicated substantial state-backed investment in Huawei by the Chinese government, aiming to bolster the company into a formidable chip player capable of rivaling industry giants such as Intel and Qualcomm. Huawei’s remarkable achievement in developing the Kirin 9000S chip within three years on its proprietary 7nm FinFET process challenges earlier predictions by some US experts.
