Unveiling the All new Momentum TWS 4

The MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 by Sennheiser are the brand’s latest flagship true wireless earbuds, boasting a plethora of features such as adaptive noise cancellation, Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Lossless, LE Audio, Aura-cast, Sennheiser’s Sound Personalization feature, and wireless charging. Priced at ₹19,999/-, they offer a premium experience, but do they deliver? The MOMENTUM True Wireless 4’s design remains unchanged from its predecessors, with a fabric-lined charging case that feels sturdy but is not very pocket-friendly. The earbuds are chunky and sit deeply in the ear canal, causing discomfort for some users. The touch-sensitive controls on the earbuds can be inadvertently triggered due to their large size. The earbuds are compatible with Sennheiser’s Smart Control app, allowing users to customize sound settings, ANC, touch gestures, and firmware updates. The Sound Personalization feature offers an intuitive way to adjust sound profiles based on personal preferences. However, some features must be locked behind a mandatory Sennheiser account, which feels unnecessary.

The audio quality is warm and dark, suitable for genres like pop and hip-hop, but lacks clarity for classical music. The microphone performance is surprisingly poor, with voices sounding muffled and quiet. Noise cancellation is effective, providing near-total silence in most environments. Latency performance is passable, but some apps may experience delays, especially in low-latency mode. The earbuds offer reliable connectivity with no audio dropouts or disconnections. They support multipoint connectivity and high-resolution audio via aptX Adaptive, although the default bitrate may not reach the advertised 24-bit/96kHz. With ANC enabled the earbuds offer approximately 7 hours of continuous playback, which is commendable. Quick charging capabilities provide over an hour of playback with just a ten-minute charge. The MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 impresses with its noise cancellation, audio tuning, and battery life. However, shortcomings in microphone performance, latency, and design flaws detract from the overall experience. Despite these issues, they remain a compelling option for users seeking premium wireless earbuds, mainly if future iterations address these concerns.
