UK Announces 95,000 Pounds to Tackle Khalistani Extremism
India has been heavily pressurising the UK to take tangible action against the Khalistani extremism that has been rampantly increasing in the country. India’s External Affairs Minister Jaishankar met UK’s Security Minister Tom Tugendhat in New Delhi, wherein they discussed means to tackle this problem. In a major announcement, the United Kingdom has announced a fund of 95,000 Pounds to deal with the Khalistani extremism. Both countries will tackle this problem by creating a Joint Task Force in the country to identify the repeat offenders and take all the necessary action.
The British High Commission in India released a statement saying, “During a meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, in New Delhi on Thursday (10 August), UK’s Security Minister Tom Tugendhat announced new funding to enhance the UK’s capability to tackle Pro-Khalistan Extremism.” The Khalistani extremists present in various Western nations have been actively calling for a separate Khalistani state in Indian Punjab and other parts of northern India. Quite recently, they took down the Indian flag from Indian Embassy in London, which triggered a massive response from the Indian Government on this matter. Further details on these developments are now expected.
