Uddhav Thackeray Faction Rebuts TMC’s ‘Mamata for PM’ Claim
Shiv Sena (U.B.T.) faction, led by Uddhav Thackeray, has rebutted the T.M.C. party’s call for Mamata Banerjee to be the opposition’s Prime Ministerial candidate. However, their allies are not in agreement with this claim as Thackeray faction’s spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi responded to this statement by saying, “I think we must understand one thing, every party member would want their leader to be the Prime Minister. That does not become a consensus candidate. The consensus will emerge once the Parliament takes form, once the Lok Sabha elections happen,” as per ANI.
She further continued, “The agenda is very clear, that we have to fight against what is happening in the country in terms of economy, farmers’ distress, women feeling unsafe, growing unemployment, rising prices. Who the PM will be is something which will be decided when the time is right.” Uddhav Thackeray recently attended the opposition meeting consisting of 26 parties, including his own Shiv Sena (U.B.T.), Indian National Congress, T.M.C., NCP and others. However, the opposition is facing political attacks to name their alliance ‘I.N.D.I.A.,’ which stands for Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance.
