Twitter Traffic Goes Down Amid Threads’ Rises
The recent launch of Meta’s Threads is creating a major impact on Twitter traffic, which has recorded a significant slowdown since the launch. In just two days, Threads has already garnered over a hundred million users, thereby reducing a big chunk of internet users from Twitter. According to Cloudflare, the number of active users on Twitter has been steadily dropping ever since Meta announced the arrival of Threads; and the pace of this decrease has picked up since the very day of the launch.
While there is no word from Elon Musk yet on the dip in Twitter traffic, he has publicly stated his dissent with Threads alleging that Meta has used Twitter’s trade secrets for their own platform and threatened to sue Meta over intellectual property rights. Musk has also said that while he has no qualms over Twitter having any competitors, he is against stealing information and trade secrets. Twitter’s legal representative has officially sent a notice to Meta, but there have been no further developments on this matter yet.
