Trans Harbour Link: India to get its longest sea bridge
Among the many key projects that are underway in Mumbai, the Trans Harbour Link is said to be the most crucial in terms of connectivity and transport. The city has been waiting for its completion for a long time now, and it has been reported that the sea bridge is in the final stages of completion. As per Republic, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis have inspected the progress and flagged off the first bus to cross this link to mark the slab installation completion.
Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will then add the finishing touches, such as putting up anti-crash barriers, installing surveillance systems, and putting up view-cutters, among others. The Trans Harbour Link will be India’s longest sea bridge, with a total length of 21. 8 km, out of which the sea length is about 16.5 km. It is an ambitious project which will allow you to travel from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai in just 16-20 minutes, cutting the current travel time by more than half. The total project cost of Trans Harbour Link is Rs. 17, 800 crore, and it will allow you to drive past the toll booth at 100 KMPH without having to slow down at the toll booth to pay.
