Trading entitlements including Coal India and many stride high

On May 21, 2024, we witnessed significant movements in the market. Several stocks, including Coal India, Havells India, Siemens, NMDC, and Steel Authority of India, achieved new 52-week highs, indicating their strong performance. Conversely, the Nifty 50 index declined by 43.4 points (-0.19%) to 18,229.45, while the Sensex fell by 166.08 points (-0.22%) to 61,423.37. The Bank Nifty also decreased by 175.3 points (-0.36%) to 48,803.7. It’s worth noting that stocks hitting fresh 52-week lows included LANCOR Holdings, Brightcom Group, Popular Vehicles and Services, Anupam Rasayan India, and Vels Film International, which could be of interest to our readers. 

In the BSE Sensex index, Tata Steel, Power Grid Corporation of India, Asian Paints, State Bank of India (SBI), and Tech Mahindra were the top gainers, showcasing the strength of these sectors. Conversely, Nestle India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Hindustan Unilever, and Infosys were the top losers. The top gainers within the Bank Nifty index were SBI, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Kotak Mahindra Bank. The top losers were AU Small Finance Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, and Federal Bank. These movements reflect a diverse and mixed performance across different sectors, with some stocks reaching new highs while others faced significant declines, providing a comprehensive view of the market’s dynamics.
