TN minister Senthil Balaji arrested for money laundering
Tamil Nadu’s Electricity Minister and DMK leader Senthil Balaji has been placed under arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. Soon after landing in official custody, Balaji was hospitalised after he complained of discomfort in the chest. Tamil Nadu’s other state minister P.k. Sekar Babu shared updates on his health condition saying, “He is in the ICU. He was in an unconscious state and did not respond when he called him by his name. He is under observation; there is a swelling near his ear. Doctors say there is variation in his ECG. These are symptoms of torture,” as per ANI.
DMK has thus made a major claim saying that Senthil Balaji has faced torture in custody that led to his hospitalisation. However, Tamil Nadu BJP’s Vice President Narayanan Thirupathy has responded, saying, “Much drama, screenplay, and dialogues are happening today in Tamil Nadu. This is not good for Tamil Nadu or DMK. I demand CM MK Stalin to dismiss Senthil Balaji from his ministry immediately and ask him to cooperate with the probe.” While ED continues to press charges against Senthil Balaji, only time will tell when his case will be tried in court.
