“There’s an aura around MS Dhoni,” says Devon Conway

IPL 2023 was a testament to the limitless popularity of MS Dhoni, who lifted the trophy for the fifth time. Devon Conway, who proved himself as one of the key CSK players this season, heaped praises on Dhoni’s leadership during his conversation with ESPNCricInfo. Conway described the great camaraderie he shares with ‘Captain Cool’ on and off the field and that their frequent discussions often go beyond cricket. He also shared a note on the air of aura around Dhoni that he observed while playing with him in IPL.  

“The respect is immense. Every time he walks into a room, there’s an aura around him. You want to talk to him, understand what he has to say because of his status in cricket and what he has achieved. We were fortunate to play a lot of snooker late nights and early mornings. We’ve shared a lot of laughs and good, constructive chats around those games and how to approach different situations and those sorts of things,” Conway said. MS Dhoni holds an illustrious record as a captain, which is marked by a World Cup, a Champions Trophy, a T20 World Cup and 5 IPL trophies.
