Tech giant Capgemini opens 6G laboratory in India
While the world still discovers the potential of 5G, tech services giant Capgemini appears to be one step ahead as they have already begun the research for 6G services and its potential. According to IANS, they have recently launched a 6G laboratory in Gurugram and will begin their operations effectively. Shamik Mishra, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, ‘Connected Futures’ at Capgemini said, “The 6G lab will enable us to prototype, simulate, and test solutions, leveraging next-generation connectivity and silicon technologies along with advanced AI to address the wireless communication challenges presented by 6G.”
India’s IT Ministry under Rajeev Chandrashekhar has been actively pursuing the roll out of the 5G services in the country, with the vision to make India the leading contributor in technology when the time comes to introduce 6G to the masses. The opening of this Capgemini lab will likely make a major contribution to laying the foundations of this objective. The company had announced a collaboration with King’s College London to work on 6G capabilities such as AI-generative and sustainable 6G networks.
