Team India Wins its First T20 of the Series Against WI
The third T20 match of the ongoing series against West Indies brought a silver lining for team India has the clinched their very first win of this series. West Indies batted first and got off to a decent start as the openers Brandon King and Kyle Mayers made a strong opening partnership, before Mayers was dismissed by Axar Patel, followed soon by King (dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav). Yadav continued his onslaught by not allowing their middle order to settle. However, Windies skipper Rovman Powell hit a power-packed 40 runs to take his team to a respectable 159 runs after 20 overs.
In response, youngsters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubhman Gill failed yet again as they both were dismissed in single digits. However, the seasoned Suryakumar Yadav returned to his excellent form by smashing 83 runs in just 44 balls in a furious attack. His knock consisted of 10 fours and 4 big sixes. He was supported well by the in-form Tilak Verma, who yet again carried his team with a sublime 49 runs. He was just one short of fifty when skipper Hardik Pandya finished the game with a six, despite having 14 balls left.
This win will come as a positive news to team India, who is eager to regain its winning momentum before the world cup begins later this year.
