Team India Loses its Important Pacer Ahead of ODIs Against WI
Team India is currently prepping for their 3-match ODI series against West Indies after a successful couple of test matches, despite the second match being drawn due to rain. However, it appears that India’s pace attack will experience a major vacuum in the series as Mohammed Siraj has been ruled out of the limited format games, as per ESPN Cricinfo. Siraj has been unexpectedly flown back home, which has caused concerns among fans regarding his health and fitness ahead of the World Cup later this year.
However, the reason behind Siraj’s departure from the series has nothing to do with his fitness. Team India has taken this decision precisely to give ample rest to Mohammad Siraj before the upcoming Asia Cup and the World Cup. Siraj has been India’s star pacer this year, having displayed absolute resilience and performing when it mattered the most. Given that Rohit Sharma and Co. have completely dominated West Indies in this tour, it is unlikely that Siraj’s absence will put Team India on the back foot.
