Team India in Trouble as West Indies Win the 2nd T20I
Team India appears to have lost their mojo as West Indies have beaten them in the second T20 international as well. They are just one win away from clinching the T20 series, which would be a major series loss for India, which currently holds the top position in World T20 Rankings. In the second T20, India registered a rather mediocre first innings score as Shubhman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav got out in single digits. Ishan Kishan tried to hold the fort for a while but was ultimately bowled by Romario Shepherd as well.
The only silver lining was Tilak Verma’s second consecutive success, as the young batter hit an impressive 51 before ultimately being caught. Sanju Samson also failed to make a mark, but skipper Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel somehow managed to push the scoreboard to a fightable 152 for seven. In response, WI batsmen led by Nicholas Pooran launched a strong attack against Indian bowlers. Pandya and Yuzvendra Chahal put up a tough fight against their rivals by taking three and two wickets consecutively, but the mediocre target was not enough for them to take West Indies down. The hosts eventually reached their target in the 19th over with just two wickets to spare, handing team India their second loss in this series.
Coach Rahul Dravid and Captain Rohit Sharma will have to revisit their strategy amid India’s struggling form as the World Cup closes in with each passing day.
