Swish to Flush Swigg-ato!

A Bengaluru-based startup, Swish, has sparked a heated debate on social media with its promise to deliver food in just 10 minutes

Currently operational in HSR Layout, the company aims to overcome Bengaluru’s notorious traffic and provide fresh, hot meals to customers in record time. Co-founder Ujjwal Sukheja explained that the idea was born out of frustration with long waiting times for food deliveries despite rapid service at local eateries. However, the concept has drawn mixed reactions, with some questioning the necessity and feasibility of such a service. Critics have raised concerns about the freshness and quality of food prepared in such a short time frame and the potential for delivery drivers to engage in reckless driving to meet the deadline. Labor exploitation is also a significant concern, with users worrying about the implications for delivery personnel.

Some have speculated that the service would rely on pre-made or frozen food and that cooking or visiting a nearby convenience store or street food stall would be more practical. Others have questioned the need for such a service, suggesting it solves a non-existent problem. Despite the backlash, some users have reported a positive ordering experience with Swish, citing a seamless signup process and clean interface. However, the debate highlights the challenges and concerns surrounding the rapid food delivery model, particularly regarding labor exploitation and food quality. As the service continues to roll out, it remains to be seen how Swish will address these concerns and balance the need for speed with quality and fair labor practices.
