Suresh Gopi strikes off the Fake Resignation Comments over the internet

Suresh Gopi, recently sworn in as a Union Minister of State dismissed media reports suggesting he wishes to resign from his new ministerial role

Suresh Gopi, a prominent Malayalam film actor and BJP MP, recently sworn in as a Union Minister of State (MoS) in Narendra Modi’s government, has dismissed media reports suggesting he wishes to resign from his new ministerial role. Suresh Gopi, who made history by becoming the first BJP MP elected from Kerala, winning the Thrissur Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 74,686 votes, took to social media to clarify his position. On platform X (formerly Twitter), he stated, “A few media platforms are spreading the incorrect news that I am going to resign from the Council of Ministers of the Modi Government. This is grossly incorrect. Under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji, we are committed to the development and prosperity of Kerala.”

Kerala BJP President K Surendran also refuted claims about Suresh Gopi’s dissatisfaction over his appointment as MoS rather than a cabinet minister or an independent charge minister. He criticized the Kerala media for allegedly spreading false information. Surendran emphasized that there are no plans to change the leadership of the BJP state unit and dismissed the notion that the state BJP had intended to sideline Suresh Gopi by appointing him as chairman of the Satyajit Ray Film Institute or by attempting to defeat him in the Thrissur election. Surendran underscored that the BJP’s Kerala unit now has two Union ministers and an increased vote share of 20 percent, suggesting robust party support and dismissing rumors of internal discord.
