SRH vs MI: Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs
SRH vs MI: Last night’s match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians was crucial for both teams, as they had been struggling at the lower end of the points table. Sunrisers won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai, however, made the best of the situation and made a solid start during the powerplay. Skipper Rohit Sharma hit six boundaries before being caught by his rival skipper Aiden Markram. Ishan Kishan continued the onslaught and hit 3 fours and 2 sixes, followed by a terrific performance by Cameron Green. He hit an unbeaten 64 with 6 fours and 2 sixes, taking Mumbai’s tally to 192 runs in 20 overs.
In the second innings, Mayank Aggarwal rose above his below-par form and hit a respectable 48 runs in 41 balls. But the Mumbai bowlers did not allow the Sunrisers to put up a major partnership as no other batsman made a decent score except Heinrich Klaasen, who put up 36 runs off just 16 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. While their lower order tried to bring the Sunrisers back in the game, the team was eventually knocked out at 178 runs.
Cameron Green was awarded ‘Player of the Match’ for not only pushing up the scoreboard for Mumbai Indians but also taking the critical wicket of Markram. The next match will be played between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants.
