Spotify has introduced a new feature called Offline Backup for Premium users, aimed at solving the issue of being without music when there’s no internet connection. The feature automatically creates a playlist from your recently streamed and queued tracks and those cached on your device, ensuring you always have music to listen to, even offline. Offline Backup organizes songs by artist, mood, and genre. It continues to evolve as you listen, so it always has something fresh for you.
The feature doesn’t use additional data or storage since it relies on cached songs already on your device. It appears automatically in your Home feed when you’re offline, provided you have offline listening enabled and have recently played at least five songs. The feature is rolling out globally on Android and iOS for Spotify Premium users, and you can also save the playlist to your Library for easy access later.
