Snoop Dogg Cancels Hollywood Bowl Concerts to Support Strikes
American rapper Snoop Dogg has become the latest high-profile Hollywood celebrity who has come out in support of the ongoing strikes by writers and actors against the use of Artificial Intelligence to make movies. He has announced the cancellation of his upcoming Hollywood Bowl concerts towards this cause. He expressed his solidarity with the industry professionals on the strike and cited that they are willing to resume work if negotiations take place with fair measures. The rapper also apologised to his fans for cancelling these concerts.
Snoop Dogg posted a brief message on social media that reads, “We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show. We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a real proposal and we can all get back to work.” Snoop Dogg has been among the most vocal celebrities who have spoken against the studio practices of talent management of artists and writers, calling their contracts and pays ‘unfair.’
