Snapdragon to release QC 8 Gen 4 in October!
Last year in October, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC during the Snapdragon Summit held in Hawaii. Now, it’s been revealed that this year’s Snapdragon Summit, also scheduled for October, will see the introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Don McGuire, Qualcomm’s CMO, shared this news during a video posted on X from the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC), mentioning that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will feature the Oryon CPU.
Prior to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 announcement, Qualcomm is anticipated to unveil another chip in the Snapdragon 8 Gen series. This chip, designated as SM8635, is rumoured to include a Cortex-X4 core running at 2.9GHz, along with an Adreno 735 GPU for handling graphic-intensive tasks. Expected to be fabricated on TSMC’s 4nm node, it boasts an AnTuTu score of approximately 1.7 million. Sleeved between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 & Gen 3, it is speculated to be named as Snapdragon 8s Gen 2 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite.
