Rumors suggest that the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will boast an impressive GPU, with an early AnTuTu result showing a GPU score of 1,330,057. It is a significant increase over the top Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 result, which scored 896,416 points. According to Ice Universe, the Adreno 830 GPU is being tested at a clock frequency of 1,250MHz, which is higher than the Adreno 750 in the 8 Gen 3. The Adreno 750 clustered under 8 Gen 3 runs at 903MHz for the regular AB variant and 1,000MHz for the AC variant. In comparison, the Adreno 735 inside the 8s Gen 3 has fewer cores but runs at a higher 1,100MHz.

Commenters on Weibo asked if the performance variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will have even higher clocks. However, the leakster cautioned that these are still experimental runs and that the final clock speeds might differ. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will also have high CPU clock speeds for its Oryon cores, with a Geekbench result showing the two fast cores running at up to 4.09GHz. This is higher than the highest CPU clocks on the phone, currently found in the Apple A17 Pro chipset at 3.78GHz. Qualcomm can be the first mobile CPU brand to crack the 4GHz barrier, marking its significance in smartphone performance.
