SmartEye Makes It Possible To Read Driver’s Vital Signs
Prominent Swedish tech firm SmartEye is all set to launch its Driver Monitoring System (DMS), which is said to be a lifesaver in terms of road safety. Its AI-driven technology enables the system to read and monitor the vital signs of the drivers. This will prevent any road accidents that may be caused by the sudden deteriorating health of the driver and send necessary alerts early on. As per IoT Tech, DMS will use a 940nanometer wavelength infrared light to detect sudden reactions and changes to the driver’s skin, even during the change in brightness caused by sunlight or shades.
The Chief Research Officer of SmartEye, Henrik Lind, said on this development, “By integrating heart and respiration rate detection into Smart Eye’s world-leading driver monitoring system software, we provide an even deeper layer of insight into driver state and health. The advanced methods used, including rPPG and micro movement analysis, let our software detect even the subtlest physiological changes in real time. Highly requested by the automotive industry, this technology offers OEMs an opportunity to proactively address health emergencies and ensure safer road experiences.” This launch by SmartEye will draw the attention of automobile companies all over the world, as the integration of vehicle technology takes place at a rapid pace all over the world.
