Shinde Camp Faces Thackerey Camp on SS Party Celebrations

On the Shiv Sena foundation day, the Eknath Shinde camp has made all preparations to celebrate the day as both his and Uddhav Thackerey’s faction aim to overshadow each other’s celebrations. The foundation day, which falls on June 19, will be marked by two different celebrations at separate venues in Mumbai, wherein they will address their party members and supporters. Both camps have been in the race to prove that they are the real successors of Balasaheb Thackerey’s political legacy that led to the creation and influence of Shiv Sena.

Last year, the Eknath Shinde camp had executed a political coup over Uddhav Thackerey’s government, citing their disapproval towards the latter’s policies by saying that they were against Shiv Sena’s ideology. Shinde had been a loyal supporter of Balasaheb Thackerey for years, but went against Uddhav Thackerey’s state government by joining forces with Devendra Fadnavis and BJP. He landed the Chief Minister’s post, whereas Fadnavis became the Deputy Chief Minister. The Shinde camp also landed the rights to Shiv Sena’s bow and arrow party logo, whereas Uddhav Thackerey has called his faction Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackerey).
