Sharad Pawar reviews situation surrounding nephew Ajit Pawar’s alleged move towards BJP
NCP head Sharad Pawar is considered to be among the sharpest politicians in the country and commands a massive influence in Maharashtra. However, his party appears to be on the back foot as his nephew and party leader Ajit Pawar is reportedly aiming to move outside NCP with several MLAs under his control. Ajit Pawar’s loyal MLA Anna Bansode, recently spoke to TV9 Marahi and said that he was ready to follow Ajit in whatever decision he makes.
Bansode has also added that a meeting has been arranged by the leader to address several MLAs and party heads from NCP. But it appears that Sharad Pawar has managed the situation, as Ajit himself came forward recently that no such meeting is currently taking place. Despite the rumours about Ajit Pawar-led mutiny, it appears that most leaders from NCP are not looking to jump ship. A similar situation took place after 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections when several MLAs joined Ajit Pawar to form a government with Devendra Fadnavis. However, their government did not last long as Ajit rejoined the Sharad Pawar camp, and NCP formed a government with Shiv Sena and Congress, making Uddhav Thackerey the erstwhile Chief Minister.
