SCO Meet: EAM Dr. S. Jaishankar slams Pakistan, raises cross-border terrorism issue
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has arrived in India for Shanghai Cooperation Organisation or SCO meet, making him the first Pak FM to do so in twelve years. Hosting the highly speculated meet in Goa, India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar has aggressively called out Pakistan in Bhutto’s presence by saying, “The menace of terrorism continues unabated. We firmly believe that there can be no justification for terrorism and it must be stopped in all its forms and manifestations including cross-border terrorism.”
Jaishankar also highlighted India’s commitment towards multilateralism and peace in the South Asian region in its SCO Presidency. Furthermore, he has highlighted the humanitarian aid that India has provided to Afghanistan following the political, security, and economic instability in the country. Some of the top agendas of the Pak Foreign Minister’s visit is expected to be the Kashmir issue, which remains a core part of the country’s foreign policy. India and Pakistan have both refused to hold bilateral talks with each other, as per PTI inputs.
