Republic Day 2024: Why This Year is Significant 

The entire nation has swung in celebration of Republic Day 2024, which falls on January 26 and marks the 75th Republic Day of Bharat. While this day in itself holds great national importance, this year is going to be uniquely significant as major national and geopolitical developments will take place that will make a huge impact. The Republic Day 2024 parade is being attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, who is the chief guest of the ceremony. The parade will reflect the deep and growing bilateral ties between Bharat and France, as it will also have a contingent of the French military.

However, along with attending the parade, Macron has also arrived for deepening defence deals between the two nations. The expectations are high that Bharat will announce the purchase of more Rafale fighter jets from France, along with other trade deals. Earlier, US President Joe Biden was extended an invitation to this parade, but he had to decline due to internal issues and upcoming elections taking place in the country.

Republic Day 2024 parade will also give a specific focus to women empowerment in all the tableaux that will participate in the ceremony. ISRO will present the successful Chandrayaan-3 in their tableau, which will be a depiction of Bharat’s rise as a space superpower. Interestingly enough, the Republic Day 2024 parade will also feature Bharat’s growth in Artificial Intelligence. Many such demonstrations of the country’s rising might await the celebrations in New Delhi.
