Ranveer Singh on ‘Don 3’: I Will Put My Best Foot Forward 

The announcement of Don 3 with Ranveer Singh replacing Shahrukh Khan in the titular role was met with a wave of surprised reactions, some of them cynical in nature. As the curiosity for this spinoff continues to rise, Singh has addressed this cynicism head-on in his recent conversation with Deadline. He said, “When the announcement was made, as expected, it came with its share of scepticism. But throughout the history of cinema, this has happened,” he said.

The actor cited the example of the recasting of the James Bond character in his response and compared it with Don 3 by reminding how Bond actor Daniel Crag was also met with scepticism. “Even as recently as perhaps when the Bond franchise changed hands, and they announced Daniel Craig as the new Bond, it came with its fair share of scepticism. So, this is only natural.”

However, Ranveer promised that he would give his best effort to do justice to Don’s character, which was earlier essayed by Amitabh Bachchan before being taken over by Shahrukh Khan. Ranveer said, “Taking the baton forward in this franchise and continuing the legacy of two of our greatest superstars – the significance of that is not lost on me. So, I will give it my best shot, and you will see the very best of me. I will put my best foot forward for Don, undoubtedly.” Don 3 will be released in 2025.
