Rani Mukherji Opens Up About Her Miscarriage

Rani Mukherji has always remained in the limelight because of her commendable acting performances but has also kept her private life out of the public eye. However, she made a huge revelation at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, where she said that she suffered a miscarriage before shooting for Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. “I got pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020, and I, unfortunately, lost my baby five months into my pregnancy. After I lost my baby, Nikhil would have called me probably like ten days later,” she said.

Mukherjee continued, “He told me about the story, and I kind of immediately… not that I had to have the loss of a child to feel the emotion. But sometimes there is a film in the right time of what you are going through personally to be able for you to connect with it instantly.” Rani Mukherji plays the role of a mother who fights the judicial system of Norway to gain back custody of her kids after the government declares her an unfit mother and takes her children. The film was released earlier this year and received a largely positive reaction from the audience.
