Randeep Hooda hooked on to a prominent role of Veer Savarkar, set to release this March 22
The unveiling of the trailer for “Swatantrya Veer Savarkar” provides a glimpse into what appears to be a captivating cinematic portrayal of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, fondly known as Veer Savarkar, one of India’s freedom fighters. Directed by Randeep Hooda, who also portrays Savarkar, and supported by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, and Yogesh Rahar, the trailer opens with a compelling scene of Hooda as Savarkar navigating through the notorious Kaala Paani prison. The film aims to explore the complexities of India’s struggle for independence and shed light on lesser-known aspects of Savarkar’s journey.
A standout moment in the trailer is the historic encounter between Mahatma Gandhi and Veer Savarkar, highlighting the contrast in their ideologies and approaches to achieving India’s liberation. This encounter sets the stage for the film’s exploration of the Indian armed revolution, featuring iconic figures such as Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Madanlal Dhingra, Bhagat Singh, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Ankita Lokhande is said to be delivering a commendable performance as the female lead. For those unfamiliar, this project is a biopic of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. In February, the filmmakers announced the release date of the film. Randeep Hooda revealed that the film is set to hit theatres on March 22, 2024.
