Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw: Our responsibility not over yet
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has been monitoring the situation in Odisha round the clock to aid and help the victims of the terrible accident while also making sure that the railway operations get back on track. Two days after the Odisha train tragedy, the reinstallation of rail tracks and operations have finally resumed, as reported by ANI. However, the minister has stated that their responsibility has not ended yet, saying, “The train movement was normalised within 51 hours of the deadly accident. Both the lines have been tested as well as ready, and the rain movement will begin from now.”
He continued, “Our goal is to make sure missing persons’ family members can find them as soon as possible…our responsibility is not over yet.” Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was also joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the accident site in Balasore, Odisha, where three trains collided and took the lives of at least 275 people, injuring over 900 others. This deadly accident has sparked a major debate on the rail advancements that are still required to ensure the absolute safety of passenger and goods trains. While the rail authorities are looking for all errors that have led to this accident, the investigation has been officially handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
