PM Narendra Modi flags multiple Vande Bharats across the Nation at one single time; Virtually!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated ten new high-speed Vande Bharat trains on Tuesday via a virtual ceremony from Ahmedabad. Alongside, he initiated groundwork for several other railway projects. Reflecting on the nation’s progress over the past decade, Modi noted that this milestone offers just a glimpse of the developmental strides achieved. Following the launch and laying of foundation stones for numerous railway initiatives, Modi underscored the significance of the moment, stating, “Today stands as a testament to our resolve. The youth of our nation will shape the future of our country and its railways.”

The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Ahmedabad to commence and officially open several railway and petrochemical projects valued at over ₹1,06,000 crore.

During the ceremony, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for Railway Workshops, Loco Sheds, Pit lines/Coaching Depots, the Phaltan-Baramati New line, Electric Traction System upgradation work, and dedicated to the nation two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor between New Khurja to Sahnewal (401 Rkm) section of Eastern DFC and New Makarpura to New Gholvad section (244 Rkm) of Western DFC. Additionally, he inaugurated Western DFC’s Operation Control Center (OCC) in Ahmedabad.

PM Modi also flagged off ten new Vande Bharat trains connecting Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Mysuru-Dr MGR Central (Chennai), Patna-Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Puri-Visakhapatnam, Lucknow-Dehradun, Kalaburagi-Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Ranchi-Varanasi, and Khajuraho-Delhi (Nizamuddin).

Furthermore, he flagged off the extension of four Vande Bharat trains: Ahmedabad-Jamnagar Vande Bharat extended till Dwarka, Ajmer-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Vande Bharat extended till Chandigarh, Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat extended till Prayagraj, and Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat extended till Mangaluru. Additionally, two new passenger trains were inaugurated between Asansol and Hatia, and Tirupati and Kollam stations.

The Prime Minister also flagged off freight trains on the Dedicated Freight Corridor from various locations, including New Khurja Jn, Sahnewal, New Rewari, New Kishangarh, New Gholvad, and New Makarpura.
