PM Modi Speaks to Workers After Tunnel Rescue Operation Success

The relentless tunnel rescue operation in Uttarakhand that had spanned for days finally reached a momentous conclusion last night. The evacuation team was able to rescue all the 41 workers who were trapped in the tunnel. Adding on to the good news, all the workers returned without any health complications after being inside for nearly three weeks. Ambulances were made ready to treat them after the rescue, but after their health was given a clean certificate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wasted no time in interacting with them.

He spoke to the team leaders of the rescued workers to find out how they kept themselves healthy and passed the time even as the tunnel rescue operation was underway on the other side of the rubble. They revealed that the entire team made use of the time doing yoga and going for walks within the tunnel to keep their health up. They also expressed gratitude to Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and the entire tunnel rescue operation team for their continued assistance and routinely checking up on the workers while they were trapped before eventually getting them out of the tunnel. PM Modi concluded the conversation by praising the courage and patience shown by them and their families.
