PM Modi in G7: India Aims to Serve as a Bridge Between Nations
All eyes are on the current geopolitical developments with PM Modi in G7, which is currently being hosted by Japan. Modi was invited by Japanese PM Kishida to participate in this event, and the Indian Prime Minister is making sure to put forth India’s message to the world on this important platform. While interacting with Japanese media publication Yomiuri Shimbun, He said, “The world faces challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, disruptions in supply chains, terrorism, and climate change, disproportionately affecting the developing world.”
He further added, “India prioritises addressing these concerns and emphasises human-centric development through collaboration with Japan and other partners. India aims to serve as a bridge between different voices, promoting a constructive agenda focused on achieving shared objectives for the betterment of humanity.” The presence of PM Modi in G7 is a part of his ongoing 6-day foreign visit to three nations – Japan, Australia and Papua New Guinea. After Joe Biden cancelled his QUAD visit to Australia, the Indian polity, including PM Modi and EAM Jaishankar, have made sure to mark their presence with an aim to increase India’s influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
