PM Modi in Australia: Aussie businessmen, investors hold talks with the Indian PM
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese recently welcomed PM Modi in Australia to hold bilateral talks and increase cooperation and economic ties between the two nations, as they also eye to counter Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific region. The Indian Prime Minister has invited top Australian businessmen to ramp up their investments in India, according to PTI. Some of these names include AustraliaSuper CEO Paul Schroder, Hancock Prospecting Executive Chairman Gina Rinehart, and Fortescue Future Industry Executive Chairman Andrew Forrest.
During these discussions, the Australian companies were also invited to collaborate with Indian companies to work on mass-scale renewable energy plans toward India’s Green Energy vision. Forrest eventually revealed that the Prime Minister acknowledged the limited scope of fossil fuel energy and emphasised aggressively pursuing green energy options. Rinehart, on the other hand, noted, “Growth in the future is going to be huge…Australia really needs to work harder to develop its relations with India.” The huge Indian diaspora also has lined up to welcome PM Modi in Australia in large numbers. He is currently in the final phase of his six-day foreign trip and will be returning to India soon.
