PM Modi Embarks for France to Enhance Bilateral Ties
PM Modi has left for France to attend the country’s National Day, called the Bastille Day, at the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron. The agenda is set for his visit, which is aimed at deepening bilateral and geopolitical ties between the two nations. These include cooperation in the defence, economy, energy, space and other vital sectors that will ensure a flourishing partnership in years to come. PM Modi shared his insights on this trip, saying, “I look forward to meeting President Macron and holding wide-ranging discussions on taking forward this longstanding and time-tested partnership over the next 25 years.”
He further added, “I also look forward to my interactions with the French leadership, including Ms. Elisabeth Borne, Prime Minister of France, Mr. Gerard Larcher, President of the Senate, and Ms. Yael Braun-Pivet, President of the National Assembly. I am confident that my visit will provide a new impetus to our strategic partnership.” India had recently placed an order for 26 naval version Rafale fighter jets for Indian Navy after having earlier imported 36 Rafale jets for the Indian Air Force. PM Modi will also visit Abu Dhabi to boost trade between Indian and UAE.
