PM Modi: Compare Bharat With Other Democracies, Not China

Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi has begun his outreach to citizens living in Bharat and abroad to communicate his government’s vision and the efforts being undertaken to achieve the goal of a developed Bharat. Parallelly, he also made Bharat’s stance on international issues clear in his recent interview with the Financial Times, including the global perception of comparing Bharat with China. He highlighted that Bharat is on the verge of a huge economic boom, and it would only be wise to compare it with other democracies.

When asked whether corruption, along with skill scarcity, was the primary factor that was restricting growth and development in the country, PM Modi responded by saying that Bharat would not have achieved the fastest-growing economy status if that were true. He also cited the fact that several people of Bharatiya origin in the West have become the CEOs of some of the biggest companies in the world. PM Modi also noted Bharat’s growing stature in the world in his response, adding that the nation has become one of the biggest global destinations for investments.
