PM Modi Calls for Cabinet Meeting to Discuss Parliament Breach

In light of the major security breach that took place in Parliament yesterday, a cabinet meeting has been called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the matter. Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Ministers Anurag Thakur and Prahlad Joshi will be among the ones present in this meeting, where the reasons that led to this security blunder will be discussed. Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has already taken measures to tighten Parliament security by cancelling visitor passes for the time being.

Ahead of the cabinet meeting, the Ministry of Home Affairs has already launched a probe into this matter after the Lok Sabha Secretariat sent an official request. Security experts from various agencies have been selected in the investigation panel to probe into the fault lines of the Parliament’s security and the measures required to fix these issues at the earliest. Four perpetrators were apprehended yesterday for disrupting the Parliament proceedings after two of them broke into Lok Sabha during the session and activated coloured smoke in the hall while shouting slogans.
