PM Modi and UK PM Sunak Hold Discussion on Gaza Conflict
Amid the escalating tensions in the Israel – Hamas war, PM Modi and UK PM Sunak discussed the ongoing situation yesterday in a telephone call. The two leaders, who have both shown their solidarity with the Israel and condemned Hamas’ terror attack, agreed on their stance against terrorism, while also calling for precautions against the death of innocent civilians, as well as to stabilise the West Asian region, which is witnessing the involvement other groups like Houthis from Yemen and Hezbollah from Iran as well. PM Narendra Modi shared insights on their discussion on his recent X post.
He said, “Earlier this evening, spoke to UK PM @RishiSunak. Discussed means to strengthen bilateral relations and exchanged views on the situation in West Asia. We agree that there is no place for terror and violence. Death of civilians is a serious concern. Need to work towards regional peace, security, stability and continued humanitarian assistance.” PM Modi and UK PM Sunak have both built strong ties with Israel and continue to extend their support to the Jewish state. Parallelly, Bharat has also called for exploring diplomatic options to resolve this conflict.
