Partition Day: PM Narendra Modi & HM Amit Shah Pay Homage
On the occasion of Partition Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have sent messages of solidarity for all the victims of the partition horrors. PM Modi wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is to pay homage to all the Indians whose lives were sacrificed during the partition of our country. This day also reminds us of those who were displaced during the partition and were forced to endure the struggles. My tributes to all of them.”
On the other hand, Amit Shah wrote on this Partition Day, “The partition of our country in 1947 on the basis of religion is a dark spot in our history. The hatred it sparked is responsible for the deaths of lakhs of people and the displacement of crores of citizens. Our country had to pay a heavy price for it, and many people are enduring its pain even today. On the occasion of Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, I pay homage to all those people who lost their lives and their loved ones due to partition.” Prime Minister Modi will kickstart tomorrow’s Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort tomorrow in the presence of several cabinet leaders including Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar and others.
