Clensta, the personal-care brand backed by actor Parineeti Chopra, is in advanced discussions to raise $10 million (approximately Rs 83 crore) in a Series B funding round. The funding round is expected to include Amazon as a new investor, alongside existing backer TradeCred, which will likely lead the round. Other participants include Arrow Capital and Singapore-based Jafco Asia. The deal terms are still being negotiated, with Clensta co-founder Puneet Gupta confirming that discussions with several venture capital firms are ongoing. Clensta, known for its innovative waterless products such as shampoos and body baths, plans to use the new funding to boost its omnichannel strategy, expanding its offline presence, scaling domestic and international operations, and deepening retail partnerships.

The brand has developed a portfolio of around 70 products and has seen significant growth, reporting Rs 78 crore in revenue for FY24, marking a 129% increase from the previous fiscal year. The company aims to churn Rs 300 crore as an annual recurring revenue(ARR) by the end of the current financial year. Ashish Mishra, a former senior executive at Mamaearth, joined Clensta as a co-founder in September 2023 to drive international expansion and institutional sales. Since his arrival, Clensta has accelerated its offline growth, with Mishra playing a key role in new initiatives. Despite its growth, Clensta has faced challenges, including delays in employee salary payments linked to newly introduced KPIs. Gupta acknowledged the delays but assured that salaries would be disbursed soon, with a commitment to resolving the issue and streamlining payments moving forward.
