Oppenheimer Controversy: Anurag Thakur Slams CBFC for THIS Scene 

The Oppenheimer controversy has switched gears as Union Minister Anurag Thakur has joined citizens in criticising the Bhagvad Gita scene in the film. Thakur has spoken to Central Board of Film Certification or CBFC to express his dissent towards their decision to retain the scene in the final cut of the film, as per ANI. In that scene, the movie characters get intimate while holding the Bhagvad Gita, which is considered to be a holy scripture in Hindu culture, which has triggered mass criticism from viewers.

Anurag Thakur, who leads the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of the Central Government, has decided to take strong action against the members that were involved in the approval of the scenes, which has further intensified the Oppenheimer controversy. He has also directed the CBFC to make the necessary cuts to that scene without any delay and warned the board that no such negligence would be tolerated in the future. While the film has opened to a welcome reaction from the fans at the box office, this scene has garnered angry reactions from the Indian audience.
