OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: No plans to leave Europe
Reports claiming that OpenAI is preparing to move their operations out of Europe have been doing rounds for a while now, but its CEO, Sam Altman has now put these rumours to rest. While government regulations are tightening their drip in progress in artificial intelligence, Altman has dropped a tweet where he wrote, “Very productive week of conversations in Europe about how to best regulate AI! We are excited to continue to operate here and of course, have no plans to leave.”

Quite recently, Altman had spoken at an event where he stated that OpenAI would consider moving out of Europe if their governments practice overregulation regarding artificial intelligence. Amid the economic troubles that Europe is currently going through, their governments have been rather cautious in decisions that may affect their economy and security. It was recently announced that Germany had officially entered recession since the economic growth of both the previous fiscal quarters has been in the negative. They are unlikely to loosen their grip on advancements in AI until they overcome this crisis.
