Oceangate Tragedy: Human Remains Likely Recovered
The Oceangate tragedy created headlines around the world as the submarine carrying five individuals to the Titanic ship wreckage imploded and killed everybody on board. The debris of the submarine was spotted nearly 500 metres away from Titanic as the coast guards of the United States, Canada, France and other countries continued their round-the-clock search to find the rest of its remains. The US Coast Guard has recently divulged to AP that human remains have likely been found and that arrangements are being made to get all the remains to the United States.
The Oceangate tragedy submarine, which was named ‘Titan’, was 12,500 metres underwater when it imploded due to reasons that are yet to be ascertained. Coast Guard chief Captain Jason Neubauer said, “There is still a substantial amount of work to be done to understand the factors that led to the catastrophic loss of the Titan and help ensure a similar tragedy does not occur again.” Acute medical analysis of these remains will be conducted in the US, wherein the pieces of evidence will be tested before concluding the reason that caused this implosion.
