This new feature, included in WhatsApp Beta version 2.24.15.5, allows users to transcribe voice messages directly within the app. Previously, this feature was made available to iOS users in May. The update is said to make bi-lingual interaction easy.

The voice message transcription currently supports five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Hindi, with plans to expand to additional languages. Users wishing to use this feature must download an extra data package. This package ensures that all transcriptions are generated on-device, maintaining privacy and enhancing user experience.
