The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting searches in multiple locations across the Rajouri and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir as part of its investigation into the terror attack that took place in June 2024. The attack targeted a bus carrying pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple, resulting in nine deaths, including seven pilgrims, and 41 injuries. The bus came under heavy gunfire and subsequently plunged into a deep gorge near Teryath village in the Pouni area of Reasi. The Ministry of Home Affairs handed the case to the NIA on June 17.

So far, only one arrest has been made; an individual named Hakam Khan from Rajouri has been arrested. He is accused of providing logistical support to the terrorists, including food and shelter, and helping them survey the area before the attack. The NIA has been conducting searches since early morning, targeting seven locations in these districts. In June, the agency also conducted searches at five places linked to hybrid terrorists and their overground workers in Rajouri. More details on the ongoing investigation are awaited.
