NIA cracks down on new terror outfits in J&K
The National Investigative Agency, or NIA, executed a massive crackdown on new terror outfits in Jammu and Kashmir on May 31. This operation took place in three locations in the Kashmir Valley wherein the agency raided the residential places of all the cadres of these organisations, which includes sympathisers, hybrid terrorists, and overground workers, according to ANI. The names of these raided organisations include The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (ULF J&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF), PAFF and Kashmir Tigers.
While these outfits operate under different names, they are the offshoots of none other than Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al-Badr and Al-Qaeda, which are affiliated and aided by Pakistan. Some of the items seized during these raids are arms, ammunition, narcotics, money, sticky bombs, and IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). NIA has also found the usage of drones to plan and carry out terror attacks, as well as carrying out the delivery of arms, ammunition, and explosives. While J&K has largely returned to normalcy, these well-planned raids by NIA shed light on Pakistan’s continued attempts to spread terror and violence in the region.
